Singapore’s Container Port (PSA) has upgraded its real-time surveillance network to ensure unconditional reliability for this critical maritime hub. Nearly 200 units of Fiberroad industrial-grade media converters, creating a highly resilient, point-to-point transmission architecture. 

Environmental Challenges & Technical Pain Points:

  • The "Single Point of Failure" Risk: In traditional layouts, multiple IP cameras connect to a single centralized switch. If that switch fails, the entire regional surveillance blind spot is created instantly.
  • Extreme Tropical Climate: The maritime environment features scorching heat (often exceeding 70°C in outdoor enclosures) and intense direct sunlight.
  • Corrosive High Humidity: Constant exposure to salt spray and high humidity in seaside environments accelerates electronic corrosion and threatens network uptime.

To prevent chain-reaction downtime, 3SI Pte Ltd deployed a “One Camera, One Media Converter” architecture with Fiberroad FR-7N3101. Each IP camera connects directly to the control center via dedicated fiber. Individual device failures will not affect other cameras, ensuring 99.99% uptime.
